Operations Director
Mission
To develop and expand the brand in terms of sales, network, retail operations and brand equity in accordance with the company’s strategy.
• To prepare and implement 3-year plan and annual budgets to achieve the financial targets.
• To manage, lead and develop the retail team and the supporting functions to meet with the business objectives.
• To develop and maintain customer relationship to ensure high level of customer service.
Responsibilities
Store Network
- Liaise with the Headquarters to upgrade, expand and develop the store network including negotiation of terms and all aspects of new locations.
- Manage store project financials to ensure targeted payback and budgeted investments.
Business Development
- Monitor the local retail real estate market, the competition network strategies to ensure systematic market update to detect and report potential new projects for the Company.
- Establish and maintain relationship with landlords, department stores and developers
Brand Development
- Develop and strengthen awareness and image of De Beers.
- Ensure the brand positioning in terms of image and presentation in the local market is consistent with the brand strategy and maintain at the highest level at all times.
- Work with the PR manager to increase quality and quantity of editorial coverage in appropriate media and provide local inputs on quality of media for advertising
- Develop and implement successful product launches and new store opening events.
Retail Operations
- Ensure that the retail organization, structure and qualified human resources are in place to meet with the Company’s objectives.
- Ensure that stores are relevant in terms of location and presentation to the market.
- Ensure all corporate identity guidelines are properly implemented
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for stores which are consistent with De Beers Store Handbook and local legal requirements.
- Streamline the retail operations processes and procedures and professionalize the work methods.
- Safeguard the physical security of company assets, customers and employees.
Human Resources & Training
- Ensure the hiring, coaching and development of employees is consistent with the culture and objectives of the Company.
- Ensure regional recruitment criteria are met (including presentation for retail) and interview all final candidates for all managerial / key positions.
- Enhance the people development through necessary training programs, individual development plans and other retention strategies.
- Develop motivation schemes (incentive) for sales staff
- Implement HR policies and procedures in accordance with legal, moral and corporate requirements.
Inventory Management
- Implement systems and procedures that ensure the management of inventory levels, products mix that enable the company to maximize its retail objectives.
Merchandising
- Oversee and develop sales by various measures such as by product categories, by product lines.
- Establish Visual Merchandising (VM) in coordination with local market priorities & product schedule
Customer Relationship Management
- Work closely with central CRM team to improve the development of CRM through increasing quality and quantity of data capturing.
- Provide local inputs to the central CRM team to recommend and implement CRM activities to support sales and build customer loyalties.
Financial Management
- Prepare the strategic definition and priorities with the central team and implement the 3-year plan and annual budgets to achieve the financial objectives as set by the company.
- Track and analyze all aspects of the business data including established KPI’s, competition activities, detailed stock and sales analysis, feedback on in-market product performance and needs.
- Ensure the appropriate financial and reporting systems are in line with the Group and local requirements
- Ensure proper internal control procedures are implemented and closely monitored.
